thinking … can be a dangerous activity

Not in itself, but rather the conclusions which are drawn or the actions that are taken thereafter.

No, don’t mind me, I don’t mind at all.

Found this little thing while looking through a bunch of old school stuff… it was for a school partner project where we had to make a presentation that appealed to Bill Gates so that he would donate a million dollars to our imaginary charity to save an endangered species. This was a parody I wrote to the tune of Don’t Stop Believing as part of the project:

I’m just an orange cat
My species isn’t even fat
Can you please spare some change, you’re a billionaire

Just wanna’ stay alive
My species wants to survive
Can you please spare some change, you’re a billionaire

Don’t use my hide for your costume
My species is on the brink of doom
I also come in black and white
Once I’m dead I don’t respawn, respawn

Troubles mating
Finding a partner’s hard
You’re always killing us day and night
All the people
Using us for soups and potions
You are, not treating us right

Don’t even want, a house on a hill
Just a couple jungles in Brazil
I’ve never laid a paw on your rice, I’ve committed no crime

You smoke your cigs and drink your booze
And then you turn us into shoes
Oh, there’s a way to make amends
Don’t sell my parts for a couple yuan

Troubles mating
Finding a partner’s hard
You’re always killing us day and night
All the people
Using us for soups and potions
You are, not treating us right

Don’t stop donating
Help us with our mating
Come on people

Don’t stop donating
Help us with our mating
Come on people

Don’t stop donating
Help us with our mating
Come on people

Hate being annoyed at things I can’t do anything about.

I recently watched all of the X-Men series and upon finishing, wondered if the same thing would happen in the real world. Where a bunch of people who were “different” would walk the earth and where the “normal” people would reject them and fear them… attacking them verbally, emotionally and physically. Then I realized… Damn, that’s happening everyday. There’s racism, sexism, all kinds of crazy-isms and discrimination that stem from misunderstanding, prejudice and fear. Ranging all the way from sexual orientation to social status; from hair colour to the ability to hear. It’s a crazy world. A truly, truly crazy world.
